Testimonials

Esther, 20

“You challenge me in a really healthy way- you see past my façade and that is actually a relief. I’d never have even thought that my relationship with my Father was the reason for my self-destructive patterns of behaviour”

Matt, 34

“I came to therapy expecting you to tell me what to do and what was “wrong” with me. I have learnt, through you guiding me, that there’s nothing actually wrong with me at all. I could never have believed that.”

Gurj, 48

“You seem to be the only one who listens and the only one that I can really be honest in front of. I will be taking that away with me- it has helped. “

Mae, Young Person

“Thank you, Kelsie. You helped me sort my thoughts out and I’m learning to cope much better”

TherapMe

Kelsie and Karen Jeffery trained together and launched TherapMe to offer a ‘whole life’ therapy solution, putting a psychodynamic spin on parenting, adolescence and corporate life.

“We were learning tonnes of psychodynamic theory, from Freud to more recent ideas, and it struck us both, as mums, that we wished we had known some of this when our children were tiny. Psychodynamic thinking is powerful but it is also shrouded in mystery - we want to make it available, useful and practical so it can help and inform people at every life stage.”

Now the budding company offers ‘Tiny Minds’, workshops for expectant mums and dads, to psychologically prepare them for parenthood and give practical advice on parenting with a psychodynamic slant.

“Counsellors and psychotherapists can make guesses about what went wrong for a particular client in childhood, and at what stage. We want to arm parents with the knowledge about what they can do right with their baby or toddler and hopefully keep their child off the counsellor’s couch in later life.”

TherapMe recently launched ‘Work Minds’ aimed at companies looking to acknowledge and support their employees’ mental health concerns through group work or one-to-one therapy.
